In 2023, Deputy Rosello fatally shot two Black teenagers, Dhal Apet (17) and Lueth Mo (15), during a robbery investigation. Surveillance footage showed Rosello using his SUV to block the teens’ vehicle and firing as it moved toward him. He did not activate his body camera during the incident. In March 2025, the Attorney General’s report concluded that criminal charges were not warranted, as prosecutors couldn’t prove Rosello lacked a belief that the vehicle would hit him or that shooting was his only means to avoid harm.
