Between November 2013 and January 2015, Deputy Thomas Marano submitted fraudulent time sheets claiming he was working for a private security company during hours he was actually on duty at the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office. He faced charges of third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, both felonies. Marano was placed on administrative leave pending further internal investigation.
