    In November 2008, Deputy Jailer David Corde participated in the mistreatment of detainee Darrin Irwin. Corde ignored Irwin’s complaints of pain and was present during the excessive use of force. This led to a civil rights lawsuit and a subsequent settlement. Corde resigned after the incident.
