On January 10, 2025, Deputy Michael Swords, 71, was arrested for malfeasance after a fleet vehicle he operated collided with an emergency services vehicle. An investigation revealed that Swords intentionally provided false information regarding the incident, violating internal policies and the law. He was terminated from his position, and bail was set at $25,000.
