In July 2015, Correctional Officer Jonathan Kwiatkowski sexually assaulted Katie Irving when she visited the Kenosha County Jail to have her electronic monitor adjusted. Kwiatkowski was convicted and is serving a six-year prison term for sexual assault and misconduct in office. Irving filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against Kwiatkowski, Kenosha County, and Sheriff David Beth.
