    Sheriff named as a defendant in multiple lawsuits alleging a pattern of sexual misconduct and improper behavior within the sheriff’s office. Accused of failing to implement proper safety mechanisms and policies to prevent sexual assaults by deputies during inmate transport. Lawsuits filed in May 2024 claim that West’s practices resulted in assaults on female inmates by deputies David Wayne Loman and Wesley Hunter Jr.
