Deputy Sheriff Josh Snider participated in the May 2007 incident involving the involuntary commitment of Deborah S. Meyer. Meyer contended that Snider and his colleagues fabricated claims of her violent behavior to facilitate her detention. The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals determined that there was sufficient evidence for a jury to conclude that the officers deliberately provided false information, which could constitute a violation of Meyer’s constitutional rights. The case was sent back to the lower court for further action.
