Former Lieutenant Brett Alan Mull, head of the Criminal Interdiction Unit, admitted to stealing methamphetamine from evidence envelopes to support his personal addiction. In July 2018, investigators found evidence envelopes with trace amounts of meth at his residence and workplace. Mull pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and acquiring drugs by fraud or deception, leading to his termination from the sheriff’s office. He was sentenced to six months in prison in April 2019.
