In October 2013, former Lockhart Police Chief John D. Davis II pleaded guilty to a felony ethics charge for using his official position for personal gain. He misused the Law Enforcement Tactical System (LETS) to access confidential criminal records in exchange for money. Davis was sentenced to eight years imprisonment, which was suspended for five years of probation, and fined $5,000.
