Former Police Chief Dewayne Tennie was sued in December 2018 by a female officer for sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, retaliation, slander, defamation, and assault and battery. The officer alleged that Tennie forced her to have sexual relations on multiple occasions between 2014 and 2018, threatened her, and raped her twice. Tennie was placed on paid administrative leave in March 2018 and resigned later that month.
