On June 24, 2021, Officer Suddeth pulled over Mr. Rogers for not having a license plate on his truck. Suddeth issued a citation and called a towing company to impound Rogers’ vehicle, allegedly misapplying a state statute. Suddeth also searched the vehicle without a warrant and confiscated Rogers’ pistol. Rogers filed a lawsuit against Officer Suddeth and the City of Oneonta, alleging fraudulent misrepresentation and unlawful seizure of property.
