    In August 2024, Officer Kyle Sue participated in the arrest of Tyron McAlpin, a deaf Black man with cerebral palsy. During the incident, Sue was involved in tasering and physically assaulting McAlpin. The arrest led to charges against McAlpin, which were subsequently dropped. Sue was placed on administrative leave while the department conducted an investigation into the use of force. The incident attracted significant criticism from human rights groups and highlighted concerns about the department’s treatment of individuals with disabilities.
