    In December 2022, Sergeant Ricardo Garcia was accused of sexually assaulting a female deputy at his house during a department holiday party. The victim was reportedly too intoxicated to consent. Garcia was terminated from the department and faces two counts of sexual assault in Pima County Superior Court. The trial is scheduled to begin in December 2024.
