Chief Hargett was involved in the demotion of Officer Gentry from sergeant to patrol officer in October 2015, following evaluations that cited poor leadership skills and professionalism. After Officer Gentry’s husband, a reserve officer, discussed her demotion with the mayor and made allegations against Chief Hargett, Chief Hargett removed him from the reserve officer program and banned him from the police station. Officer Gentry alleged that these actions were retaliatory, but the court found that she failed to establish a prima facie case of retaliation.

  • View the Blog: Read about documented police interactions
  • Share Your Experience: Submit your own police interaction story
  • Browse the Forums: Check if your local law enforcement has been documented

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
