In 2014, Alexandria Sheriff’s Deputy Bryant Pegues was arrested for sexually assaulting a female inmate at the city jail. He was fired and later pleaded guilty to carnal knowledge of an inmate, receiving a five-year prison sentence with a portion suspended under conditions.
