On June 28, 2024, an unnamed female officer responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding 20-year-old Jade Kothe, who was experiencing a drug overdose. Upon arrival, the officer allegedly pulled Kothe out of a vehicle by her ankles, causing her head to strike both the interior rear door and the ground. Witnesses reported that the officer did not administer Naloxone, a medication that can reverse opioid overdoses, and blocked the vehicle from transporting Kothe to the hospital. Kothe ultimately died at the scene. The officer’s actions are under investigation for potential misconduct and failure to render aid.
