Aaron Cochran – Hardwick Police Department

Former Police Chief Aaron Cochran was placed on paid administrative leave in January 2022 due to concerns over his handling of an internal investigation into Sgt. Darin Barber’s misconduct. Cochran initially cleared Barber of wrongdoing regarding the mishandling of confiscated evidence. However, a subsequent external review found that Barber violated department policies. Cochran resigned in October 2022 after nearly 10 months on leave. In December 2022, Caledonia County State’s Attorney Jessica Zaleski issued a Brady-Giglio letter against Cochran, citing dishonesty during the review of Barber’s actions and subsequent inquiries.”
