In May 2020, Deputy Aaron Tucker was named in a civil lawsuit alleging excessive force and misconduct during his tenure as a Kentucky State Police Trooper in March 2019. The lawsuit claims Tucker assaulted a prisoner in his custody and fabricated a report about the incident. Security footage from the jail reportedly contradicts Tucker’s account. Following an internal investigation, Tucker was terminated from the Kentucky State Police. Despite the lawsuit, McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters continued Tucker’s employment, citing his professional conduct since being hired in January 2020.
