On August 25, 2022, Corrections Deputy Abreante Jacole Harris, 20, was arrested on charges of simple battery and malfeasance in office. An internal investigation revealed that Harris entered a dorm at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and struck an inmate several times. She was terminated from her position upon arrest.
