In October 2023, Lieutenant Alex James was demoted to deputy following an internal affairs investigation into allegations of sexual harassment, conduct unbecoming, and rule violations regarding social media. Complaints included sending sexually explicit memes to female colleagues and making flirtatious comments to a contracted employee. James admitted to sending the memes, stating they were intended as humor. His annual salary was reduced from $139,212 to $89,155 as a result of the demotion.
