On August 8, 2023, Officer Teeter fatally shot Mike Alexander-Garcia during an incident involving a stolen vehicle. Teeter deployed his K-9 into the vehicle and subsequently discharged his firearm multiple times, resulting in Alexander-Garcia’s death. The family filed a wrongful death lawsuit alleging violations of constitutional rights and racial profiling. The Office of Inspector General later deemed the use of deadly force justified.
