Austin Rowlands – Steuben County Sheriff’s Office

In September 2023, Detective Sergeant Austin Rowlands was accused of official misconduct and criminal mischief during the execution of a warrant in Angola. Allegations included using a bowie knife to damage a television, employing an axe to disable surveillance cameras, and striking a pickup truck with the axe. Rowlands resigned from his position in January 2024 and faced felony and misdemeanor charges related to these incidents.
