Ben Aders – McLean County Sheriff’s Department

In February 2024, Deputy Ben Aders was placed on leave and under investigation following undisclosed allegations. He resigned during the investigation. Previously, in 2014, while with the Greenville Police Department, Aders faced charges of sexual abuse and misconduct, leading to court-ordered sexual counseling. These charges were later dropped, and he received a letter of recommendation from the prosecutor. Aders also had brief tenures with the Central City Police Department and returned to McLean County before his 2024 resignation. The sheriff indicated that this investigation might result in the revocation of Aders’ peace officer certification, effectively ending his law enforcement career in Kentucky.
