In 2022, Deputy Ben Fields was accused of coercing a woman under home incarceration to engage in sexual acts in exchange for waiving her monitoring fees. The woman alleged that Fields removed her ankle monitor and arranged multiple meetings in a judge’s chambers for sexual encounters. Fields was suspended without pay, and the matter was referred to the Kentucky State Police for investigation. A federal lawsuit was filed against Fields and Sheriff Mickey Stines, seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
