In July 2019, Park Ranger Brandon Baeuerlen was terminated for harassing a female subordinate. His misconduct included pressuring the subordinate to go on dates, engaging in inappropriate acts at work, disobeying directives not to discuss inquiries with the subordinate, and improperly staffing the park to be alone with her. The Arizona Law Enforcement Merit System Council found just cause for discipline but recommended demotion. The Department’s Director rejected this recommendation and upheld the termination.
