In June 2022, Brandon James, a 33-year-old correctional officer at the Taylor County Jail, was arrested and terminated for engaging in a sexual relationship with a female inmate in 2020. The investigation began after a former inmate reported the affair, leading to James’s confession and subsequent dismissal from the Sheriff’s Office.
