Brent Lynch – Owsley County Sheriff’s Office

In December 2021, Sheriff Brent Lynch was accused of rushing the basketball court and striking a Perry County Central High School student during a girls’ basketball game. Lynch, who was also a coach for the Owsley County team, was charged with fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor. In November 2022, he was found not guilty by a judge in a bench trial. Lynch stated that he was trying to protect his players and daughters during the incident.
