Bret Noltner – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office

In January 2022, former correctional officer Bret Noltner was charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault by Correctional Staff and two counts of Misconduct in Office/Excess Authority, all felonies. An investigation revealed that Noltner engaged in sexual contact with a female inmate while on duty in December 2021. Security footage showed interactions between Noltner and the inmate, including instances where they entered areas out of camera view. Noltner was arrested at his Tomah home on January 13, 2022, and was subsequently terminated from his position at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, where he had been employed since November 2021. Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
