Candice Smith – New York City Police Department

NYPD Officer with multiple arrests. In 2011 she drove while intoxicated the wrong way down a Long Island highway (blood alcohol over twice the legal limit). She was later arrested in 2017 for an assault in the Bronx and again in June 2020 for drunk driving in Queens. Despite these three arrests, Smith remained on the force, assigned to desk duty watching surveillance cameras while collecting her full salary and overtime. An NYPD administrative judge found her guilty of the misconduct, yet she was allowed to keep her job; only in late 2022 did she begin to leave the department amidst public outcry.

  • Browse the Forums: Check if your local law enforcement has been documented

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
