Carlos Romero – Anaheim Police Department

In 2023, Officer Carlos Romero allegedly misused police resources to obtain a woman’s personal information after encountering her at an In-N-Out Burger. He reportedly contacted her via Facebook, visited her home while on duty, and, despite her objections, sexually assaulted her on September 25, 2023. Romero was placed on paid administrative leave, faced a misdemeanor charge for unauthorized disclosure of DMV information, and was sued in federal court for sexual battery and civil rights violations. The lawsuit seeks over $7 million in damages. ([latimes.com](https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-07-09/former-anaheim-police-federal-rape-lawsuit?utm_source=openai))

Welcome to Police Accountability Database

Our Mission

We're building a comprehensive database of police interactions to promote accountability and transparency in law enforcement.

How You Can Participate

  • View the Blog: Read about documented police interactions
  • Share Your Experience: Submit your own police interaction story
  • Browse the Forums: Check if your local law enforcement has been documented

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
