Cedric Coleman – Irondale Police Department

Former Officer Cedric Coleman filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the Irondale Police Department after resigning in 2014. Coleman alleged that he received a threatening photo posted to his locker depicting a black man in chains and a text message containing a racial slur. Despite reporting these incidents to his supervisors, no disciplinary actions were taken against the responsible parties. Coleman sought to hold the city and the police department accountable for the hostile work environment and lack of response to the reported discrimination. Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
