Chad Emery – Brattleboro Police Department

In June 2020, Vermont State Police responded to a domestic disturbance at Emery’s home in Guilford. A woman reported that Emery assaulted her, striking her in the face by swinging open a bedroom door. Emery was charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of aggravated disorderly conduct. He resigned from the Brattleboro Police Department in July 2020. In March 2023, he pleaded guilty to one count of domestic assault and one count of disorderly conduct, receiving a deferred sentence and probation. On September 18, 2023, Emery entered into a consent order with the Vermont Criminal Justice Council, resulting in the permanent revocation of his law enforcement certification in Vermont.
