Chancelor Stephen Lee Saxton – Anderson County Sheriff’s Office

In October 2020, while serving as a detention officer, Saxton performed a ‘leg sweep’ maneuver on inmate Robert Dale Robertson, who was handcuffed at the time. This action caused Robertson to fall, resulting in a cervical spine fracture that led to his death on October 24, 2020. Saxton was subsequently charged with involuntary manslaughter and misconduct in office.
