Chris Bond – Ashland County Sheriff’s Office

Former corrections officer Chris Bond was accused of sexually assaulting multiple female inmates at the Ashland County Jail between 2013 and 2016. Allegations included fondling, forcing inmates to perform oral sex, and making lewd comments. Bond took his own life in August 2016 after these allegations surfaced. Five women filed federal lawsuits against Ashland County, the sheriff, and the jail administrator, alleging violations of their constitutional rights. The lawsuits were dismissed in 2018, with each woman receiving settlements ranging from $10,000 to $15,000.
