Lieutenant Chris Shaw has been implicated in multiple incidents of misconduct. In May 2020, he made sexually disparaging comments towards Officer Poythress, stating he ‘walks like a faggot.’ Additionally, Shaw exhibited racially discriminatory behavior, including differential treatment of officers based on race and making derogatory comments. He also failed to address misconduct by white officers, such as ignoring violations of civil rights and inappropriate use of city resources.
