In May 2023, Officer Christopher Hart allegedly pepper-sprayed inmate Jerry Minor for knocking on the window of the Detox cell and requesting a phone call. This incident led to a federal lawsuit filed by Minor, accusing Hart of excessive force and civil rights violations. As of November 2023, Hart remained employed with the department.
