Dale Hanson – Sitka Police Department

In 1981, Officer Dale Hanson was terminated and decertified for allegedly assaulting inmates in the jail. Despite this, he was rehired in 2009 as a jailer. In 2014, while on duty, two officers under his supervision stripped and repeatedly tased a Mt. Edgecumbe student inside his jail cell, leading to a $350,000 settlement paid to the victim’s family.
