Dale Hanson – Sitka Police Department

Originally hired in 1976, Hanson was involved in a fatal shooting in 1979, leading to a $100,000 settlement. In 1981, he faced two allegations of assaulting inmates, resulting in his termination and decertification in 1983. Despite this, he was rehired in 2009 as a jailer. In 2014, while on duty, two officers under his supervision stripped and tased a Mt. Edgecumbe student in a jail cell, leading to a $350,000 settlement.
