In July 2023, Officer Dammeon Player conducted a traffic stop outside of his jurisdiction in Centerline, Michigan. During the stop, Player took the driver to the ground and tased him multiple times without clear justification. He was charged with felonious assault and willful failure to uphold the law, and was later fired from the department.
