In January 2023, an audit revealed a potential conflict of interest involving Sheriff Danny Rogers. The audit found that Sheriff Rogers employed a deputy who simultaneously served as a fiscal court magistrate, which may violate Kentucky law prohibiting a county officer from serving as a county employee. Sheriff Rogers contested the finding, stating the issue had been ‘rehashed for years and is not a conflict.’ The matter was referred to the Attorney General’s office for further review.
