Danny Torres – Miami Police Department

Officer Danny Torres, a 27-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department, has faced multiple allegations of misconduct. In September 2024, during a traffic stop involving Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill, Torres was seen on body camera footage forcefully removing Hill from his vehicle and restraining him on the ground. This incident led to an internal investigation, and Torres was placed on administrative duty. Prior to this, Torres had been suspended six times between 2014 and 2019 for various policy violations, including use of force procedures and unbecoming conduct. Notably, in 2014, he was suspended for violating the department’s use of force procedure during an encounter with a married couple, and in 2018, he received a 10-day suspension for failing to use his body camera during a stop where he allegedly damaged a citizen’s driver’s license. Despite these suspensions, Torres remained on the force until the 2024 incident prompted further scrutiny.
