On August 30, 2021, Deputy Ardeneaux reported that inmate Lemoine continued to cover the camera in his cell despite numerous warnings, leading to a physical altercation involving multiple deputies. The incident resulted in Lemoine striking his head on the floor, causing it to bleed. Lemoine filed a lawsuit alleging excessive use of force by the deputies involved.
