Deputy Jonathon Outhouse – Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office

In May 2020, Deputy Jonathon Outhouse, alongside Deputy Brent Smith, was involved in an incident where they used excessive force against Tyler Unique McClain, a Black woman who had crashed her vehicle. Despite McClain being disoriented and medics suspecting low blood sugar, Outhouse assisted Smith in forcibly removing her from her car, causing her to fall. They then handcuffed her and pinned her to the ground. McClain was later tased by another deputy. She filed a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging excessive force and violation of her rights. The case was set for a jury trial in July 2023.
