Deputy Robert Standeford – Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office

Deputy Standeford was investigated for falsely claiming military service and providing false testimony during an administrative hearing. In 2021, he was found to have lied about being a Marine and about his experiences during the 9/11 attacks. These falsehoods led to a Giglio memo being issued, questioning his credibility as a witness. Standeford resigned from the sheriff’s office and subsequently filed a whistleblower lawsuit alleging retaliation, which was dismissed in February 2024.
