Between 2013 and 2021, the Elizabethtown Police Department reported four killings by police, a rate higher than 94% of U.S. police departments. In 2020, there were two civilian complaints of police misconduct, with 50% ruled in favor of civilians. Additionally, 78% of the 12,153 arrests made during this period were for low-level, non-violent offenses. These statistics indicate a need for ongoing review and potential reform within the department to address use-of-force incidents and community relations.
