Don Bell – Fayetteville Police Department

Sergeant Don Bell is named in a federal lawsuit filed on December 22, 2023, by Sheila Lee, alleging excessive force and civil rights violations during an incident on December 25, 2020. Bell, along with Officers Molly O’Hara, Richard Rodriguez, Krista Zentner, and Ashley Wolford, is accused of dragging Lee from her vehicle, throwing her to the ground, and causing significant injuries. The lawsuit claims that Bell and the other officers ignored Lee’s medical conditions and used unreasonable force. The charges against Lee were dismissed by the District Attorney’s Office. The case is currently in mediation.
