Drew Garner – Hartford Police Department

In late 2007, Drew Garner, an acquaintance of Fred and Garret Daniels, was involved in a murder-for-hire and assault-for-hire conspiracy. Garner approached a confidential informant, Carl Sylvestry, about the murders and assault. The Hartford Police Department, led by Chief Nick Finer, conducted an undercover operation where Officer Mendiola posed as a hitman. Garner provided $3,000 as a down payment for the hits. This operation led to the arrest of Fred and Garret Daniels on February 7, 2008, based on the information gathered. The investigation was deemed reasonable and amassed substantial evidence supporting probable cause. ([casetext.com](https://casetext.com/case/daniels-v-city-of-hartford?utm_source=openai))

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
