In April 2023, Officer Drew Wurtz engaged in two separate incidents of misconduct. On April 8, he deployed a Taser on a motorcyclist without warning while both were in motion, causing the rider to experience pain and nearly lose control. The following day, Wurtz forcefully shoved a pedestrian to the ground without provocation, resulting in the victim sustaining bruises and ongoing shoulder issues. Wurtz pleaded guilty to a felony charge of deprivation of rights and was released without bond. He resigned from the department in July 2023.
