In 2009, Judge E. Curtissa Cofield was suspended for 240 days following her arrest for DUI. During the arrest, she attempted to use her position to influence officers and used disparaging language. In 2013, she received a 30-day suspension for failing to issue timely rulings in cases involving children, delaying their adoption and permanent placement.
