In September 2019, while on duty, Officer Carrillo drove an unmarked patrol car to a residence where she confronted her husband and another woman. Although not cited or charged, her employment with the Yuma Police Department ended in November 2019. In May 2020, the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board considered actions against her peace officer certification.
